A good book that explains why we start a task but never finish it?

YourPcGeek asked:

I have this issue a lot. I start a book, find another, never go back to the old one. Same with other things. It can apply to anything. I just need a good psychological view on it that will explain why this happens and how to fix it.

good book

Many people can’t multitask. Realize that only way you’ll finish a book is by focusing on that one, and hold of on starting another until you’re finished with it. It’s proven that we work more efficiently when doing one thing at a time.

I started to write a book on that!!!

Sadly I never finished it…

For real though, you just have to pick the right subject matter that you can stick to. This means you MUST LOVE what you’re writing about. I had the exact same problem but guess what? I finished my first novel two months ago!!!
It also helped me not to fully plan out the whole book. I knew where i wanted it to go and i slightly planned out each chapter but for the most part i just let each time i wrote be a fun experience with exciting plot twists. It’s hard to get bored writing something when you don’t know how it’s going to turn out…just like when you read!!
The main reason i found why i kept switching to new ideas was because i needed something different. Try to pick a subject where you can make new things pop up around every corner and it never get’s old. (Just be careful the novel doesn’t become too random =P)

Good Luck!!
