I remember the couple is given a basket palm sized babies by an angel who asks them to take care of the babies. They care for the babies and there are a few mishaps from which the couple rescue the babies (a fox tries to steal one and they get trapped in a field fire). In the end the angel comes back for the little babies and rewards the couple with a real baby for their kindness. I read this when I was a kid and I’ve been looking for it for ages. Does anyone know what it’s called?
