What’s a good book of the bible to read when having doubts?

drakethelegend asked:

Lately I’ve been having lots of doubts with God and stuff, we all do every once in a while, whether atheists agnostic or whatever, what’s a good book in the bible to read while having doubts? I’m planning on taking key scriptures and carrying them with me.

I’m agnostic – leaning towards atheist.

If there is a ‘god’ of any kind out there – a creator or supreme being, I don’t think it has anything to do with the bible, or any religious texts/rituals/superstition.

‘God’ is possible, just not probable.

the one that just tells you to have faith lol thats all you can do when none of it adds up to a logical explanation your supposed to tell yourself to have faith and not question it..

I wish reading the bible would get rid of doubts, but to be honest, if you really read the bible closely, you will end up with a lot more questions and doubts than answers and resolutions.

John 20:29
Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Hebrews 11:1,6
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see…and without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Matthew 21:22
If you believe you will recieve whatever you ask for in prayer.

James 1:6,7
When he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will recieve anything from the Lord.
