Obviosuly so that you can read it.
Its something important to you, not others as much.

You should get liek a heart of flower or soemthign next to the dates.

get one facing yourself. im getting a tattoo of similar meaning and im having it facing me. I figure that the tattoo is for me, and the meaning is for me, so when i look at it it will be facing me, not someone else

My brother passed away a few years ago, and I had his name put on my left wrist.
I don’t care if others can read it or not, since I got it for ME. Therefore, it faces me, and I am reminded everyday of his beauty and valiant battle with leukemia.
who really cares as long as it looks good on you it shouldn’t matter.
I think it depends on what kind of tattoo it is. If it’s a remembrance tattoo or a mantra or something then it’s purpose is to remind you of something, I would choose for facing towards you.
When the tattoo is meant to show something about you, e.g. you are a real Apple (mac) fan, or you love a certain type of animal, I would sooner choose for facing the other way so others can read/ view it.
Eventually it’s what makes you feel best.
