What should I do about a ganglion cyst on my knuckle?

Actually it’s on my right hand, on the palm side where my middle finger joint attaches to my hand. I thought it was just a bruise, but it’s about as big as a pencil eraser and it’s not going away. I read that I may need surgery, that having it drained only works 50% of the time. It bugs me when I drive, when I pick something up, etc…

Surgery is pretty effective, but they can come back. If its causing you problems there is no other option than surgery. They can sometimes subside on their own but there no guarantee of that or the time frame it might happen in
