why do christians say Tarot reading and palm reading is a sin?
When you see Tarot readers they say God shows them things and gave them this gift to help others. Why is that? If bith believe in God so much??

Look at Christians ! It says thou shall not judge, & they are some of the most judgemental people I have ever met. I read Tarot! All that matters is that you have something to believe in.

Christians don’t like competition, period. Anyone who has answers that aren’t in their book are evil scumbag heretics. This includes tarot readers, palmists, scientists, witches, other christians that aren’t in their sect, etc.

These are the people that burned Copernicus at the stake for having the audacity to suggest that the Earth revolved around the Sun ffs…

Ask them what god they are referring to. Satan is considered the god of this world.

Here is the Catholic Catechism’s statement:

Divination and magic

2115
God can reveal the future to his prophets or to other saints. Still, a sound Christian attitude consists in putting oneself confidently into the hands of Providence for whatever concerns the future, and giving up all unhealthy curiosity about it. Improvidence, however, can constitute a lack of responsibility.

2116
All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to “unveil” the future.48 Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.

2117
All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one’s service and have a supernatural power over others—even if this were for the sake of restoring their health—are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion. These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons. Wearing charms is also reprehensible. Spiritism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another’s credulity.

–So it is the idea that you are seeking to know your future and thus strive to have some kind of power over your future, which is unhealthy. It shows a lack of trust in God. God never tells us to go out and seek to know what will come. He tells us to sit with Him, here and now, love Him and trust that He will lead you where you ought to go.

It is my belief that Tarot reader who say it is God speaking to them are not telling the truth, whether they know it or not. At the heart of it, discern if the gift they have tempts one to an unhealthy curiosity about the future. When we should just find peace in knowing that we don’t need to know. That we trust God’s providence.

Thomas Merton, a Catholic monk (great to read), once said something along the lines – God, I desire to know what lie ahead, but moreso I desire to love you. I know in loving you I do not need to know what lie ahead. (paraphrased).

because Christians are following over a hundred years of church laws, and in that they say witchcraft is bad however I disagree.

tarot is a tool people use to answer questions. evil have nothing to do with it. its laughable people think so closemindedly about witchcraft and tarot.

the thing about tarot or any form of divination it is a tool. and heck if you don’t like the reading, you have the WILL to change it. the cards aren’t written in stone. and it is a gift to use it because you are helping others and that is the “Christian” way is to love and help others.

now keep in mind the catholic church and rules are founded in the attempts to gain power. The church wanted to suppress thinking and other faiths by use of pontiff Inquisitions and mass laws.

on a side note why run to a bible that just a book of re-written myths and scewed history. not to be taken word for word, you want to find answers ask God himself…shuffle your cards!
