Well working in a bookstore doesnt mean you have to read books…it’s the same as selling anything else except you’re selling books.

It may just be the people and working somewhere quiet all the time, or maybe good pay. I’ve done jobs that I didn’t like just because the pay was good.

firstly, its ‘enjoy’ not ‘injoy’

and why would you work at a book store if you didn’t read books? unless it was one of those discount book places i wouldn’t bother, most of the staff there are going to be talking about books all the time, customers are going to be asking you questions about books all the time…you have to know your stuff.

It’ s a simple question, since they don’ t like books they don’ t get a good education, thus they had to work for a living. So they work there and get a low pay.
Not everyone like their jobs unless they are quite good at them.

Ben Says:

You are forced by circumstances to work in a book store, where all you have to do is, just give away books according to the customers’ requirements. The same way, someone working in a shop that sells clothing material does not get to wear them.

You are working in a bookstall for a living. It is not necessary you should like those books you sell; or even all the books on sale need not make good readings; but you can enjoy what your doing, if that earns you substantial money.

In case of a librarian / archivist that may not be the case.

I’m a vegetarian who works at a fish bar. You don’t have to actually READ the books, just as I’m not force-fed the meat. It sucks, but we’ve all got to do some kind of job.

It’s not much different from people who “collect” books but never read them. Think of how many people have shelves at home crammed with books they’ve never read.

One of the harsh realities of life is that we have to work for a living, and that means that there will be instances in which someone will be forced to work in something that they don’t like. Honestly, there are a large number of people out there who don’t like what they do for a living, but put up with it anyway because they have to. If you need a job and working in a bookstore is all you can get despite the fact you don’t like books, you will take the job anyway because you need the money to survive. As simple as that. Thankfully, working in a bookstore is not any more stressful than working in any other areas of retail.
