What are some clever book store names?

VioletRose asked:

My friend and I are working on a linear programming project where we had to develop our own business. We decided to sell books. Our teacher wants us to come up with a clever name for the imaginary book store. Any ideas?

Hi
Before you pick a store name there a few things you need to think about.

What kind of books you are going to sell?
What is your target market? Gender, age, social position, other demographic details of interest.
Where the business will operate? Is it a physical store or only online?
One of the most important questions – who are your competitors?

Why all this? you probably ask. Well, you want a name people find familiar. Your prospects will try to associate your name with something they already know in the same area of your business. So you don’t want to end with a name they already associate with some other competitor bigger than you.

If you go local your best bet is on local places, names or other thing people from your area know very well. Then you combine that with what you actually are as business – a bookstore. If you could blend in your name something unique, really you I think you can get a good name people can recognize quickly and associate with your bookstore.

Wish you big success

PS I recommend you to read “Positioning” by Al Ries and Jack Trout. Chapter 9 can give you more stuff
