How much evidence does book store need to arrest you?

Bobby asked:

If someone walks out barnes and noble with 2 books they took and alarm went off and workers asked person to stop but they ignored them , and got in their car , and were seen driving off , if store got license plate number would cops arrest person ? person wasnt seen actually stealing but they had books in hands and alarm went off……….also would they go look at cameras to find out what happened ?

You were asking this question a month ago, weren’t you?

How do you know they didn’t see him stealing the books?

They have up to a year, at least, to file charges.

Donegal Says:

Does the “someone” in this question happen to be you? It’s pretty important in this case to determine if the books the person was carrying out were the person’s own property, which he/she came in with, or whether they were Barnes and Noble’s property. That has to be ascertained.

Annonymous Says:

If they find you and you have your receipt or charge card invoice showing your purchased it then you are fine. If you stole them, then thats you own F**ing fault! And I hope you get caught!

Helen Says:

well, you know you shouldn’t be stealing books from barnes and noble. you can rent them at the library for free!! stealing will always catch up with you eventually.
