How feasible is it to start a used book store?

My Boyfriend has plans to open a hostel in Panama in a year or so. I was thinking I could open a used book store in the hostel as my own personal project. How much work is this? I don’t care much about becoming rich, I’d just like to know what it takes to get a bookstore off the ground. What are the major costs? Any advice is appreciated!
